How to make parsley tea
- Wash the parsley thoroughly and chop it using a sharp knife. You'll need about 2 tablespoon chopped parsley per serving.
- Place the chopped parsley in a teapot and bring water to boil. Alternatively, you can put the parsley in a tea ball.
- Pour the water over parsley and cover. Steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Using a strainer or a small sieve, pour the tea into glasses and serve.
Flavor suggestions
- Lemon: Add a couple of lemon slices to the parsley before steeping it for a citrus flavored tea.
- Sweetened: You can sweeten your tea with different sweeteners such as honey, maple syrup or stevia.
- Cinnamon: Add one cinnamon stick to the tea pot before steeping the tea.
- Ginger: Add 1 inch sliced ginger to the tea before adding hot water. Ginger would add a kick to the flavor.
Can I use dried parsley?
It's absolutely possible to use dried parsley instead of fresh. You'll need about 1 teaspoon dried parsley per person. However, I don't recommend using dried parsley because the flavor is different and will have a bitter tone to it.
