Cantaloupe juice is sweet and refreshing. With no additional sweetener, this drink comes with so many benefits and is super delicious!

Nothing beats fresh homemade fruit juice, especially in summer. One of our favorites is watermelon juice and another one is this super easy cantaloupe juice, made from fresh fruit with no additives. It's sweet and delicious, and when served over ice, it's the perfect refreshment!
Benefits of cantaloupe juice
Being high in water, cantaloupe juice is great for hydration especially in summer. Also, it helps decreasing blood pressure because it's rich in potassium. And finally, cantaloupe juice is perfect for digestion thanks to the fiber it has. All in all, a glass of homemade cantaloupe juice has more benefits for you than a store bought sugar loaded boxed juice.
All about cantaloupe
Cantaloupe is a humble looking melon that usually doesn't get noticed when you go shopping. You can find it in the produce section near watermelons and other kind of melons.
How to tell if a cantaloupe is ripe?
A perfectly ripe cantaloupe has a cream or sandy gold colored rind and is not green. If a cantaloupe is green on the outside, it means that it's not ripe. A good cantaloupe also has a sweet smell and feels heavy for its size.
How to cut a cantaloupe
Cut the melon in half from the stem side. Place both halves on a cutting board and scoop out the seeds using a spoon.

Cut each half in half again and cut them into chunks without cutting the rind. Scoop out the fruit using a spoon. You can also simply cut the fruit in half, discard the seeds and scoop out the fruit into the blender.

A few notes and tips
- If using a ripe and sweet cantaloupe, there is no need to add any sweetener. However, if your cantaloupe is not sweet enough, add some honey, maple syrup or simple syrup.
- Some like to strain the cantaloupe juice, I usually serve it as is with some ice.
- Want to be more adventurous? Add ½ tablespoon rosewater when blending the cantaloupe. It gives such a nice and floral flavor!
How long does it last?
It's best to serve and drink cantaloupe juice fresh. If having leftovers, store in a glass jar and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Stir well before serving.
