Homemade iced Green tea lemonade
Have your ever tried Starbucks' green tea lemonade? It's so good and refreshing. There is no reason you could not make the same drink at home. And let me tell you, it's much better when it's homemade because you can adjust the sweetness to your liking (I usually find drinks too sweet for my tastes).
I love the flavor of green tea. Whether it's a hot cup of tea or a refreshing glass of iced green tea with honey, that unique flavor lifts my spirits, no matter what time of the day. So when I was working on my recipe concepts, I knew that a lemonade recipe with green tea flavor is going to work out just fine.
Just follow my directions and you'll have yourself a very delicious drink that would be perfect not only for summer, but any other day!
The ingredients
Sweetener - You can use white granulated sugar or brown sugar for this recipes. If looking for a sugar free option, try honey or maple syrup.
Green tea - Use your favorite green tea, I prefer using tea bags to make this recipe. Make sure the green tea is plain and not flavored.
Lemon - Fresh lemons are very important in this recipe. Please don't skip them and don't use packaged lemon juice.
Water - You'll need hot water to steam the tea and then cold water to make the lemonade.

How to make green tea lemonade at home
- Fill a saucepan with water and place it on medium high heat. Bring it to boil and then turn the heat off.
- Stir in the sweetener (I used granulated sugar), add the tea bags to the water and let it steep for 3 minutes.
- Discard the tea bags and add the lemon juice and cold water. Stir to combine.
- Once the mixture is cold enough, fill glasses with ice and pour the lemonade in the glasses. Serve cold.
Hope you give this homemade green tea lemonade recipe a try and enjoy it as much as we do!
