Raspberry lemonade is easy to make and perfect for any day! You can make this drink with fresh or frozen raspberries.
I love me a good glass of raspberry lemonade in summer. The problem with store-bought lemonades are that they're usually not made with fresh lemons and they're loaded with sugar. That's why I always make lemonades at home. This recipe is so easy and quick to make and it's the perfect nonalcoholic drink for a hot summer day!
Raspberry lemonade recipe
When I'm craving something refreshing that's not a classic lemonade, this one is my go-to drink recipe to make. The tart and sweet flavor of raspberries with bright lemon flavor makes the perfect combination that's refreshing and delicious.
To make this lemonade, you need raspberry syrup which you can make ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for at least a week. I usually make a large batch of our favorite raspberry syrup and use it to make this drink in no time!
Ingredients
Raspberry syrup
Made with raspberries, sugar (or other kind of sweetener) and water, raspberry syrup is a quick shortcut to make this recipe. I strongly suggest you make this at home so you can adjust the sweetness and flavor.
Lemon
I love using fresh lemon when it comes to making lemonade. However, if fresh lemon is not available, you can use bottled lemon juice.
Water
The amount of water used in this recipe depends on how sweet and tart you'd like the lemonade to be. Start with 4 cups and add more if needed.
Fresh or frozen raspberries?
You can make the raspberry syrup using either fresh or frozen raspberries. If they are season or on sale, fresh is perfect, however, I've made them using frozen as well and the result is just as delicious.
How do you make raspberry lemonade from scratch
- Start by making the raspberry syrup by blending the raspberries with sugar and water in a blender and then reduce it by cooking. Check out the complete recipe for more information.
- In a pitcher add the raspberry syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir to combine.
- Add in water to fill the pitcher. Taste to make sure it's sweet enough and then serve in glasses over ice.
Variations
Here are two variations of the same recipe that you can make easily at home.
- Sparkling raspberry lemonade: Use sparkling water or club soda instead or water.
- Sugar free raspberry lemonade: Make the raspberry syrup using monkfruit sweetener, honey or stevia.
