A jar of homemade raspberry syrup can go a long way! It's sweet and tart, with just the right amount of sweetness. Bonus point, it's so easy to make!

Homemade syrups are so useful and practical. I've already shown you how to make lavender simple syrup which can be used in various ways. This raspberry syrup is another favorite syrup that I keep a jar of in the fridge. You can use it in different mocktails and drinks such as lemonades. Keep reading to learn all the tips and tricks to make raspberry simple syrup.
Easy raspberry syup
Making raspberry syrup at home is very easy and needs only three ingredients. Still on the edge? Here are a few reasons for you to try this recipe at home:
- Better than store-bought: While the syrup you make at home uses only three ingredients, the mass market ones are packed with preservatives, artificial color and flavor.
- Big/small batch: You can easily adjust this recipe to make a small batch or a large one. Keep it in the fridge and use as you please.
- Healthier option: I've used some granulated sugar to make this recipe but you can use brown sugar, honey or other sweeteners that you prefer.

Frozen or fresh raspberries?
I have made this recipe with both fresh and frozen raspberries and both work just as well. If fresh raspberries are in season and you have a lot of them, then use fresh ones, otherwise you can make this syrup year round using frozen raspberries.
The ingredients
- Raspberries: You can use fresh or frozen. You'll need about two cups or almost one pound of raspberries.
- Sweetener: I used granulated sugar to make this recipe but you can also use honey, maple syrup or your favorite type of sweetener.
- Water: To thin down the raspberries.
How to make raspberry syrup
- Place the raspberries, sugar and water in a blender. Blend well until fully combined and smooth.
- Transfer the raspberry mixture to a saucepan and heat until it starts simmering. Simmer on low until it starts thickening a bit.
- Turn the heat off and cover the sauce pan. Let it sit for one hour and then strain to discard the seeds.

What to do with it
There is so much to do with raspberry syrup. You can drizzle it on pancakes and waffles or even on vanilla ice cream. It makes a great sweetener for your iced green tea and you can make amazing mocktails and lemonades with it!
How to store
Store this syrup in a glass jar and refrigerate at all times. It's best to use this syrup within one week.
